| Abstract |
This study aims to improve the flexural performance of single-span plastic greenhouses under snow load. These greenhouses, commonly found
on farms in South Korea, frequently collapse during heavy winter snowfall. Based on experimental research showing the effectiveness of
tensile-tie reinforcement among various strengthening methods, a theoretical analysis was conducted using the stiffness matrix method, and the
reliability of both the experimental and analytical results was verified. Using the validated analysis method, the safety of several
disaster-resistant greenhouse designs was evaluated to determine compliance with government disaster-resistance standards. The results indicate
that the proposed safe snow depth of 200 mm may be adequate in regions with low snowfall or light snow. However, it presents a risk of
collapse in areas with heavy snowfall, such as northern Gyeongsangbuk-do and Gangwon-du, during sudden snowfall exceeding 300 mm
caused by abnormal weather conditions, or under wet snow conditions. |
