| Abstract |
This study analyzes plan characteristics and spatial utilization of Off-Site Construction (OSC)-based modular housing, focusing on margin and
flexible spaces within multi-family unit plans. Cases developed after 2010 were examined in terms of unit size, bay configuration, plan
layout, and spatial use. The results show that domestic cases emphasize construction efficiency and repetitive modular systems, mainly in
public housing, resulting in small, standardized unit plans, while international cases achieve greater diversity through varied modular
combinations. These findings suggest that spatial characteristics of OSC-based modular housing are shaped by construction methods and design
strategies, highlighting the role of margin spaces in enabling more flexible, user-centered residential environments. |
