| Abstract |
The Green Standard for Energy and Environmental Design, or G-SEED, evaluates the environmental performance of buildings throughout their
life cycle while accounting for interactions between the built and natural environments. Within this framework, Category 4, Water
Management (WM), focuses on building water use and stormwater-related processes, making it a key component of urban water cycles. To
investigate this category, this study analyzes WM using certification data from 5,881 newly constructed non-residential buildings that received
preliminary certification between 2017 and 2024. Specially, score distributions and structural characteristics of certification applications were
examined at the assessment-item level and compared by building types and certification grades. The results show that score clustering within
specific certification grades. Furthermore, differences in distribution structures were observed across the assessment items, suggesting that score
patterns vary according to item characteristics. Overall, these findings indicate that future improvements to the evaluation framework may
benefit from considering item-specific application characteristics and provides a basis for refining the G-SEED evaluation criteria. |
