| Abstract |
Carbonation behavior of Ground Granulated Blast Furnace Slag(BS)-mixed mortar cured with CO2 was confirmed through carbonation tests.
Mortar mixed with Circulating Fluidized Bed Combustion Ash(CFA) and Pulverized Coal Fly Ash(FA) showed faster carbonation than
Ordinary Portland Cement(OPC) mortar due to the consumption of Ca(OH)2 during carbonation. Compared to water curing, CO2 curing
increased the compressive strength by up to 11.5 MPa and reduced the absorption ratio by approximately 1.4?2.0%p. XRD analysis confirmed
that carbonate minerals formed during CO2 curing contributed to matrix densification and enhanced early-age compressive strength. These
results indicate that BS, CFA, and FA can be effectively utilized as carbonation reaction materials, and that CO2 curing is effective for
improving the early-age performance of BS-based blended mortar without chemical additives. |
