A Study on the Improvement of a Squatter Settlement in Jin-Ju City |
| Abstract |
A squatter settlement located near the Ei-Gock Temple in Jin-ju City was surveyed in order to provide an improvement plan for the settlement.The settlement was originated in 1936 to accomodate the sufferers of flood. As of 1984, 238 house-holds shared the houses of 152 units.This paper reviewed the development process of the settlement and analysed the environmental problems associated with the settlement.In order to investigate the characteristics of the residents, field survey was carried out and a few alternatives based on the survey results were devised.In conclusion a tentative solution is suggested for the improvement of the settlement. |
