Abstract This paper is a study on the Optimun Design of doubly-reinforced Slab-Band Floor by Ultimate Strength Design Method.This problem can be solved using Lagrange multipliers method and formulas to obtain an optimum steel ratio and an optimum efective depth are proposed.An objective function of this problem is evaluated by summing the costs of concrete, steel and form to obtain the total cost of Slab-Band Floor for unit area.The constraints is considered as well as the ultimate bending moment, shear, minimum depth, minimum steel radio and maximum steel ratio.
