Ultimate Strength Analysis of Stub-Girders |
| Abstract |
Ultimate strength models were developed to predict the strength associated with an assumed failure mechanism which was described by the formation of plastic hinges at the corners of opening. Elastic characteristics were also studied by stiffness method. The ultimate strengths, shear force distributions and elastic characteristics which are obtained theoretically were compared with test results. The methods for ultimate strength analysis were verified to have good agreements by comparing with current tests, besides previously reported test results. |
