| Abstract |
This is a preliminary study on the housing adujustment and adaptation made by normative approach.Statistical analyses were made using data collected from 140 subjects to find cultural norms of space. structure type, major characteristics of housing with independent variables and to find dimensions of normative housing defecits.Major Findings were as follows;1.Norms about structure type and tenure were determined by the stage of family life cycle.2.Norms about bedroom sharing were quite different from the standards proposed by APHA, and by Morris and Gladhart, etc.3.Dimensions of normative housing deficits were grouped to 10 factors through factor analysis processes in 3 steps. |
