Abstract The studies on the style of the Korean Buddhist wooden buildings have worked up to the present, and referred to Chinese and Japanese one in order to understand the success of the style. But it had only a partial referrence without the study on the whole characteristics of the Chinese and Japanese style. Therefore we couldn't understand the pure Chinese characteristics and the difference factors between Chinese, Korean and Japanese one. On that account, these historical system couldn't be established yet.This thesies grasped how the system of Far Eastern Buddhist architecturewas grown and spread, and drew out the characteristics of original factors between each country in the first half term of the Middle Ages. So this study analyzed the technique of the Buddhist wooden building construction during Five, Liao and Sung Dynasty, and observated the characteristics of the columnar bracket cluster style in Koryo Dynasty, comparing with Chinese and Japanese one, and understood the technique of the Japanese Wa, Chen Syu and Dai Bussu style by correlationship of the Chinese and Korean form.
