Title |
A study on frost resistance of steel fiber reinforced concrete |
Abstract |
Concrete is weak in the tensile strength compared with the compressive strength, and its use is difficult by crack and brittleness due to shrinkage. Such weakness can be improved by Fiber Reniforced Concrete. Fiber Reinforced Concrete has been studied yet centering on mechanical properties, not on durability of concrete. Generally, concrete is damaged during the early age by freezing and thawing and is hard to recover its strength. Therefore in this study, by comparing plain concrete with SGRC(Steel Fiber Reinforced Concrete) damaged by freezing and thawing in the early age, frost resistance and strength recovery of SFRC are examined. |
