Title |
A Study on the Measurement of the Performance of Building Envelopes of Residence |
Abstract |
The results of field tests conducted during the winter heating season on the thermal performance of the exterior walls of six thermal mass test houses situated in Gaithersburg, Maryland, U.S.A. A series of field and laboratory tests were conducted to evaluate the accuracy of in-situ thermal resistance measurement technique. In-Situ measurements of that transfer through building envelopes were made with heat flux transducers and portable calorimeters. The comparisons of the same wall structures tested in a guarded HOT-BOX facility in a laboratory are presented. From these test results, the in-situ methods are shown to provide thermal resistance data within 11.5% of the HOT-BOX results. |
