A Study on the Optimum Arrangement and Scale of the Emergency Facility of Hospital in the Metropolitan Area |
| Abstract |
This study is on the optimum arrangement and scale of theaccident and emergency facilities in the metropolitan area. The planning of emergency facilities requires an understanding of the medical system, along with social and community background.In this study, the general medical system and the emergency medical system in Korea and other countries were compared. The present conditions of medical facilities of the metropolitan area and the whole country were also examined for the social background. The emergency medical care system and a model of the placement of emergency facilities were suggested by examining the distribution of emergency facilities, and benefitted area of first-aid, and the emergency bridge of fire department. Also the corelationship between the scales of hospital and emergency department were detected through an analysis of the amount of first-aid treatment in trainee hospitals in Seoul. The results of this study were intended to be used as basic data for the design of facilities of first-aid treatment in urban area. |
