Abstract Water-proofing methods of the exterior walls above ground have been recognized as important factors in construction and design of the tall buildings recently.Water leakages being caused by capillary phenomena, pressure difference between exterior and interior space, gravity, kinetic energy of rain drops and air drift appear from single cause or mixed causes above.In this paper, water-proofing methods of the concrete curtain wall,ALC wall and reinforced concrete wall was studied to the water leakage causing characteristics. Water-proofing methods by means of cavity space, cladding, baffle, gasket and cover strip was shown in this paper.
