An Experimental Study on Strength and Deformation of Stub-Girder System |
Abstract |
This paper presents an experimental investigation of the mechanical behavior on stub-girder system. The objectives of the investigation are to study failure mechanism and to evaluate the effectiveness of transverse slab reinforcement and T-shaped steel in increasing the shear capacity and deformation of the stub-girders. Eight specimens were tested with different reinforcing methods. In all cases failure involved crushing of the concrete slab over interior end of the floor beam. The results indicate that the reinforcement of slab with T-shaped rolled steel increases ultimate strength and deformation capacity on stub-girder system. |
