Abstract This paper describes briefly an analytical investigation of the mechanical behavior on stub-girder system. The objectives of the investigation are to propose an analysis model on stub-girder, to compare the theoretical results with the test results, and to suggest the approximate design method for the stub-girder system. In analytical investigation an ultimate strength model is developed to predict the strength associated with an assumed 4-hinges failure mechanism of stub-girder. Also elastic characterisitcs are studied by vierendeel truss model approach. The results of the elastic and the ultimate strength analysis of stub-girder system shows good agreements with test results.
