A Study on the Classification of Architectural Space Organization in Korean Buddihist Temples |
| Abstract |
On the ground of that time was when Japanese academical persons prosecuted the studies of architectural history of Korea, the classification method of their own in style of architectural organization has widely used for a long time. But there is widely held view that thus method has to be reviewed according to the difference of concepts in space interpretation.This study, therefore, points out the problems of existing classification method, and tries to establish another one under the up-to-date concept. Organization style of architectural space in Korean Buddihist temples would be divided into two ones; the one shows a marked trend toward Classicism and Homotopia, the other, a tendency to be Hererotopia comprising the classic Vernacularism. |
