The Analysis Methodology of Architectural Perceptual Form |
| Abstract |
The objective of this research is to analyze the perceptual form which changes with the movement of the observer in architectural space. This is accomplished by using three concepts of layering:1) the perspective overlapping of planes perpendicular to the line of movement, 2) the sequential development of scenes and spatial layers perceived from specific viewpoints, 3) the stratification of planes in every scene. This research presents the hypothesis that in order to understand changing perceptual forms, one must first articulate them into several phases taken at specific viewpoints along the line of movement, and later analyze their conceptual arrangement. |
