Abstract A Study is made of the loading and support conditions which affect the inelastic inelastic lateral buckling strength of beams. Elastic lateral buckling strength was evaluated by the numerical analysis based on the differential equations of equilibrium in ref.1. In this study, the numerical analysis of the inelastic lateral buckling strength of doubly symmetric H-section beams is suggested, which is developed from the elastic analysis method of ref.1. The numerical analysis is based on based on the tangent modulus theory and the influence of the residual stress in considered by using stub column curve. The influence of loading and support conditions is discussed using this method and is compared with that of elastic buckling.
