Title |
A Study on the Strength Characteristics of Exterior Wall-to-Floor Joint for Large-panel Precast Concrete Structures |
Abstract |
Results of test on six full-scale exterior wall-to-floor joint assemblies of the "Closed" type under concentric compressive loading are reported. The tests were conducted under increasing axial loading to failure with continuous monitoring of the load-deflection and cracking behavior of the joints. The main parameters investigated were the effect of strength of the joint grout on the ultimate carrying capacity and the mode of failure of the joints with bearing pad and without bearing pad.The experimental model is compared with computer analysis in plain stress element with package program ADINA(Automatic Dynamic Incremental Nonlinear Analysis). Also the experimental results are compared with the PCA Report by Johal and Hanson and the PCI recommendation for the design of horizontal joints by revised edition 1985. |
