A Study on Establishing Exterior Noise Standards for the Apartmenthouse |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this study is to assess the noise-annoyance relation and to review the suitable noise rating indices in order to establish the acceptable exterior noise level. For this purpose a measurement of the road traffic noise and interview were conducted. From the result of this study, the indices L ,Leq,TNI predict the resident's response well. And L 62-65dB(A),Leq 59-62dB(A) account for the acceptable exterior noise level when we take 20%, disturbance rate of any activity-listening to TV or radio, resting, openning the window etc. Thus L 65dB(A), Leq 60dB(A) seem to be a acceptable exterior noise level in residential areas. |
