Abstract Theoretical analysis get used to assess the lateral buckling strength of H-section beams, as experimental method is difficult to evaluate that for reasons of boundary conditions and restraints of loading point. Numerical analysis method of elastic and inelastic lateral buckling strength was suggested in ref. 1 and 2.The purpose of this paper is to evaluate the lateral buckling strength of H-section beams experimentally and to ascertain the adequency of the analysis method comparing with the testing results. In the experiment 3 type boundary conditions are applied, that is, simple support, warping fixed support and warping and lateral bending fixed support. Testing beams are centerally loaded on the upper flange of the middle of span.
