Abstract |
This paper considers the value of phenomenology for the study of man-environment relationship, First, it examined some basic concepts of existential phenomenology in terms of experiencing spaces and places. Second, it discussed differences between a conventional scientific approach and phenomenology. Third, it clarified phenomenology of human experiences such as a authenticity, approapriation and insideness/outsideness. By interpreting some research examples on the phenomenology of home, the paper concludes a phenomenological perspective helps to revitalize conventional positivistic approch. |
