Title |
A Study on the Plan Types of Urban Traditional Housing |
Abstract |
Gae-ryang Hanok(Improved Korean traditional Housing) is a housing type that had been built from 1920's to 1950's in the cities, especially is Seoul. It was supplied by private housing developers organized with traditional craftsmen and its form was based on the traditional housing. In this study I found that Gae-ryang Hanok has been composed of three concepts;traditionality, modernity and urbanity. By analyzing thirty-three Gae-ryang Hanok in Ga-hoe dong, five housing types, (prototype 1.2, reduced type 1.2, and urbanized type) are defined. And I give a definition of Gae-ryang Hanok in the concept of a urban traditional housing type from the analysis of the characteristics and evolutional process of these types. |
