A Study of the Jesa Architecture in An-Dong |
| Abstract |
This research is the actual survey of religious architecture in An-dong region, and study the historical backgroung, the architectural character, the orient and siteplan, the floor plan and system of space, and structural character. As this religious architecture is the religious ceremonial space, it is essencially need of the large space, but it shows the siteplan used existing giographical feature in order to place in mountain aside the grace of the founder. These buildings have the type plan like Hyangyo, Seuwon, and Banga(nobleman house), and purpose the organic relation of the internal functions, the traditional wind-water theory(Pungsu Jiri theory) and the show of the whole family(Moon-Jung).Therefore this religious Architecture is the architectureal signification of Confucianism. |
