Study on the Nonlinear Structural Behavior of Reinforcement of RC Wall Beams Subject to Vertical Loads. |
Abstract |
In this research theoretical formulas are suggested based on the test results of concrete under biaxial stresses for nonlinear finite element analysis of the structural behavior of wall systems which are widely used in high rise concrete buildings. To investigate the applicability and the reliability of the theoretical analysis, the results are compared with the measured values from structural tests of wall beams with vertical loads inplane forces. In the experimental research test pieces of wall beams have been made with varying span to depth ratio and varying combinations of vertical, horizontal and inclined web reinforcement. The effects fo four types of web reinforcement on the strength, behavior, diagonal cracking, and midspan deflections of normal weight concrete wall beams reinforced with plain round bars have been investigated. |
