A Research on the Transition of Single-Detached Urban Dwelling Types in Korea |
| Abstract |
Major theme of this study is to understand properly the issues of traditional culture and modernization involved in the transition of urban dwelling types in Korea.To meet this goal, I have selected 557 samples of single-detached urban dwellings built from 1964 to 1985 in Seoul. and analyzed them to find out what have been changed and what have not been changed in terms of spaces and forms.By reviewing those factors found, it is suggested that there still remain a lot of typological continuities in urban dwellings, which mean "cultural tradition",even under the process of rapid urbanization and modernization. |
