A study on the probabilistic distribution of yearly maximum wind speed and the design wind speed |
| Abstract |
Wind forces are random in space and time, so knowing the probabilistic distribution of wind speed data is important to obtain the maximum wind forces and finally the design wind speed.In this paper, the yearly maximum wind speed data recorded at 24 stations in Korea are statically analzed.The fitness of extreme distribution of TYPE1, 2 and 3, which Gumbel classified, to the recorded data are also discussed.And finally the design wind speed based on the best acceptable distribution is calculated and is compared to the current Korean Standard. |
