Abstract The space organization constituting the living environment can be regarded as the system of choosable routes through which the energy-information is transferred corresponding to the part-whole relationship established in the community. This system of the flow of the energy-information is analogically referred to the meridian system of traditional Chinese medicine.Based on this analogical point of view, the processes of contracting the Meridian Structure Graphs from the original Individual Region Graph are sought by applying the concept of the morphism diagram. The three Meridian Structure Graphs, the Polygon Structure Graph, and Morphism Structure Graph, are expected to provide a methodological framework for anlaysing and interpreting space organizations of communities, leading to clear explanation of the socio-spatial phenomenon seen as the manifestation of energy-information flow.
