| Abstract |
This paper is to study thd effects of confinement on the strength and ductility of reinforced concrete columns subjected to uniaxial bending. To investigate the effects of rectilinear ties on confinement,fourteen specimens were tested. The major variables are configuration of section,tie spacing,the ratio of volume of tie to volume of concrete core and load-moment ratio. Also the applicability of analytical model of concrete stress-strain curve was investigated by comparison of theoretical results with test results. The theoretically calculated column capacity shows good agreement with the test results. |
