Title |
An Experimental Study on the Thermal Resistance of Air Spaces in the Masonry Cavity Wall. |
Abstract |
It is known that the thermal resistance of air spaces enclosed between walls is varied with their surface finishing conditions, their surface emissivities, temperature difference between the surfaces, the thickness of air space, the edge enclosing conditions of air space and heat flow directions. In this study, the thermal resistance of air spaces is analyzed by the three wall surface conditions. 1) with only horizontal mortar joints2) with horizontal and vertical mortar joints3) with surface mortar finishing. The analyzed results are presented and the thermal effects of the three wall surface conditions are compared and discussed. |
