Abstract |
In a finite element analysis, possible dispacement fields are restricted by the finite elements models.Therfore, the characteristics of the model i.e., the type of element and discretization methods of sections are important factors for the degree of accuracy of the approximate analysis.This paper deals with the determination of the direction of the independant variable for the optimal discretization of rectangular section subjected to torsion in comparison with the study by Liniecki and Yun.The best meshing pattern of triangular elements based on the practical configuration of stress are examined.The calculated results of different arrangement models by stress method are compared with the values computed from the exact membrane analogy method. |
