Abstract The objective of this paper is to analize elastic buckling strengths of stiffned plates by Finite Element method.In order to calculate flexural stiffness matrix and geometrical stiffness matrix of stiffned plate, stiffness matrices of plate elements and stiffner elements are assembled into global stiffness matrices.And next, eigenvalue problems which are composed of stiffness matrices are solved and buckling strength of stiffned plate are calculated.Results by Finite Element Method are compared to Timoshenko's solution and buckling strengths for several kinds of stiffned method in plates are calculated.And we get a efficient stiffening methods.
