A Study on Eunuch`s Houses Located in Yimdang-dong, Cheongdo |
| Abstract |
This study is to suggest the architectonic features of Choseon Dynasty eunuch's houses located in Yimdang-dong, Cheongdo-gun, Kyungbuk, Korea. In addition, it is necessary to individually analyse the houses useful to contemporary peoples of all social standings in order to fully understand the former housing.The result of this study shows (1) that the main house generally tends to face northwest, due to the single-heartedness toward to the royal palace, (2) that the detached house is usually located in the place where women and (3) that outsiders are difficult of access, and there is strict closure between the interior and exterior spaces of the main house. |
