Title |
A Study on the Elastic-Plastic Behavior of Column-Beam Connection of Steel Frames |
Abstract |
This paper is a serises of experimental investigation on the strength, stiffness, ductility, and hysteretic behavior of beam to column moment connection of steel building frame through the assemblage specimens.1. All tested joints exhibited a significant reserve strength beyond yielding of the panel zone and stable hysteretic behavior even at very large deformation. 2. The effects of the column axial load on the maximum strength and ductility should be included in the analysis and design of joints.3. The contribution of the excellent shear deformation of joint panels to the plastic deformation capacity of joints was observed. |
