Abstract Social interaction between housewives in apartment complex in Busan area is surveyed and analyzed. On the whole, it was appeared that 69.0% of housewives want neighboring with less number of persons than real number of contact. The number of neighboring persons are devided into 2 groups. One with less than 5 persons (50.6%) and another with more than 6 neighbors (49.4%).1) 'Aggressive' or 'non-aggressive' attitudes for neighboring are not differed significantly between 3 social groups.2) Some attitudes on 'with how many neighbors do you wish to contact?' are not differed significantly between 3 social groups, Other attitudes, however, on 'how many neighbors do you have now?' are differed significantly among those groups. (F=3.29 p=0.05)3) Analyses of variance indicate that only 'duration of stay on the same place' factor is differed significantly. (F=2.08 p=0.1) Another factors, however, such as 'ages', 'academic backgrounds' and 'family types' are not differed between groups.4) Among the 8 factors of neighboring motives, 3 factors ('physical adjacency', 'same school or same province', 'through husbands') are differed significantly between groups. Another 5 factors, however, are not differed significantly. In case of 'physical adjacency' and 'Ban-sang-hae' the number of neighboring with 7-8 persons was greater than with other factors with 1-3 persons.5) Among the 5 factors of intimacy level, 2 factors ('know only by face', 'visit each other's home') are differed significantly between groups but remained 3 factors are not differed.
