Abstract This study intends to explore the concept of human scale and the size of buildings and courtyards which is perceived as 'human scale.'The professionals (Architects, Landscape Architects, and City Planners) think that the 'comfort and friendliness' can represent the feeling of 'human scale.'The professionals think that buildings with the height of 16-24m and the with of 36-43m are in human scale. The college students think that buildings with the height of 12-20m and the with of 27-32m are in human scales.The size of the human scale seems to be influenced by social groups such as professionals-nonprofessionals and male-female, and by the type of buildings such as apartments, campus, office buildings.
