| Abstract |
This study sais the Yin-Yang theory (음양원리) of the I-ching(역) agrees with the spacial theory of the Korean traditional house.The architectural space has intengible organization & action innately, and the architecture works by means of the organization & action of the space for man's life.The spacial organization of the Korean traditional house agrees with the Yin-Yang organization of the Eight-Trigrams & the Sixty Four Hexagrams. The spacial relativity (대대) functions contary to (상반) and agree with (상합) each Yin & Yang space.Especially the wooden floor & the hypocaust has various points of contrast between Yin & Yang and makes easily to understand the specific character of the Korean traditional house.And we find the rationality of the natural science and the profound philosopical background of the Iching in the Korean traditional house. |
