A Study on the Elastic-Plastic Behaviors of Composite Beams with Web Opening |
Abstract |
This paper presents the structural design data for perforated composite beams with rectangular and circular web opening through the experimental and theoretical analysis. The specimens are consisted of 12 perforated composite beams and 2 perforated steel beams. From this study, we could find out the following conclusions; 1. The ultimate strength of perforated composite beams was not cocerned with shape of web opening.2. Perforated composite beams with high moment-shear ratios were failed by stress concentration in the vicinity of bottom tee and high moment.3. Perforated composite beams with high moment-shear ratios tended to the reduction of initial stiffness and ultimate strength because of the bigger bending moment at web opening.4. The ultimate moment by analytical model of perforated composite beams considerably was agreeded with experimental results. |
