| Abstract |
Urban environment is the public space which allows various kinds of humen experiences. This study examined the behavioral characteristics of the small urban spaces around downtown Seoul. First, these spaces were analyzed and evaluated by "pattern languages" to identify the design characteristics. Then, among these, 21 plazas were selected to find the public perception and user behavior in detail. Finally, degrees of use and satisfaction of the spaces were analyzed with related environmental variables. Design quality, location and accessibility were the important factors. |
