Abstract The aim of this study was to analyze the visual qualities of traditional Korean architecture.For this purpose, I studied perceptual effects of architectural spaces in terms of human visual characteristics and, applied these effects to the processional spaces of some traditional korean temples.I selected 3 temples for comparative study as follows : 1) Hwa-um temple, 2) Tong-do temple, 3) Hae-in temple.Visual Characteristics of above cases terned out as foollows : u1) stepped development, 2) Rerspective development, 3) suggestive development, 4) contrapununtal development, 5) sequential development, 6) dramatic development, 7) picture frame effect, 8) overlapped secne.
