Title |
An Experimental Study on the Attenuation Characteristics of Impact Noise between Rooms in Apartment House |
Abstract |
Floor Impact Noise is a kind of structure-borne sound which has transmission characteristics that reaches to long distance with little attenuation through the floors and walls in building. As a process to suggest the method of impact noise insulation, this study aims to review the transmission characteristics of impact noise accdording to the relations between source room and receiving room, and to compare the differences of impact noise insulation according to the conditions of transmission paths, source rooms and receiving rooms. This study results1. Differences of impact noise levels between adjacent receiving rooms are 1 grade(L) when one wall is located between receiving rooms, 2-3 grade(L) when two walls, and 4-5grade(L) between the furthemost receivding rooms in a dwelling.2. Opened spaces such as living room and kitchen have little difference, furthermore sometimes it can have negative attenuation.3. Attenuation ratios between receiving rooms are about 1.7dB/m in 63Hz, 2.0-2.5dB/m in the higher frequencies than 63Hz.4. Eventhough it has the same transmission paths, attenuation ratio can differ from each others. |
