A Study on the Behavioral Approach to the Design of Residental Environments |
Abstract |
This study aims to establish a conceptual framework, which is useful to reflect the psychologican and behavioral needs of residents in the design of residential environment, and to propose the behavioral approach model applicable to residential design processes.In order to realize this objectives, the relationships between residential environmental qualities and residents' satisfaction, and some factors which have correlation with residents' satifaction, were firstly identified.Secondly, the relationships between satisfaction factors and psychological-behavioral factors were analyzed, and the applicability of psychological-behavioral factors to design processes was reviewed.As a result, some physical factors which are closely related to psychological-behavioral factors were prominetly identified among a lot of satisfaction factors. Consequently, the possibilities of research to analyze the correlation of these factors in detail were found.On the basis of these findings, the behavioral approach model is proposed. |
