Abstract |
This study looks into the Neo-classic Revival movements in the later 18th century French architecture. Particular emphasis is placed on the diverse aspectsland the meanning of Neo-classic Revivals. The 18th century is considered as 'Enlightenment Period'. Neo-classicism, an artistic revolution which began in 1750 and reached its climax in the 1790s, had been a regenerative movements, and deeply colored by its anti-Rococo origin. In this period, France faced political and social transformation, which were culminated French Revolution. This study has been done with an eye to find answers for how the classic revival movements evolved during the chaotic era. And then, the meaning and the various aspects of the archi-tecture appeared in these movements were examined. |
