Corrosion and Half Cell Potentials of Reinforcing Steel in Simulated Concrete Pore Solution |
| Abstract |
This study aims to get a fundamental data on the electro-chemical measurement to use it as a non-destructive diagnosis on the corrosion of reinforcing steel in concrete which was made with marine sand or built under marine environment.The relationship between half cell potentials and deter-ioration of steel corrosion is determined with time. Steel bar is submerged in saturated calcium hydroxide solution with various content of Cl ion and inhibitor.Test results show that half cell potentials of the steel decrease with cl content of the solution and increase with inhibitor. Also it shows that half cell potentials are good agreement with corrosion of steel bar. |
