| Abstract |
Inspite of the suppression against Buddhism, several temples connected intimately to the government were able to achieve the large scale constructions with the financial supports by the government.The 5th reconstruction of Songkwang sa, the repair work of the conflagration in 1842 was also promoted with the financial supports such as supplying funds and mobilizing compulsory labours by the government. High ranking monks with varied careers in other constructions performed the constructional execution. And the skilled monks who were craftsmen belonged to the temple took charge of the technical works. |
