A study on the Visual Impact Analysis Method for the High Buildings |
| Abstract |
The purpose of this study was to suggest visual impact analysis method for the high building through the case study. The results can be summarized as follows.1)63building & KOEX building were found to give no significant negative impact on the surrounding landscape`beauty'.2)63building & KOEX building were found not to be harmonized well with their surrounding landscapes.3)Non-expert group tended to give higher score to the high buildings than the expert group, however there was no difference between the two groups in statistical test.4)There was high correlation between the mean scores through separative evaluation method(evaluate one slide at a time)and the scores through the synthetic evaluation method(evaluate after observation of many slides which contain the diverse views of the building). Therefore the synthetic evaluation method can be used as a valid method in landscape assessment.5)Men group tended to evaluate the high buildings more beautiful than women group.6)There was no significant difference between age groups in the evaluation of landscapes with high buildings.7)For the evaluation of the visual impact of high buildings, the five steps such as field observation, key view selection, taking photographs, selecting subjects, evaluation & result analysis were suggested as desirable. |
