Title |
A Study on the Formation of `Road Pattern` in a Rural Settlement |
Abstract |
This study is to understand the factors affecting the formation of `road pattern' which is considered important in the spatial structure of rural settlements. Through the field survey and interview with the residents of one rural village, it was found out that `road pattern' was formed under the influence of `access type', the location of the gate in relation to the orientation of a main building in the housing unit.As a consequence, `access type' takes priority of `roadpattern'in the spatial structure of that village, but this is potential to change as farming method has been changing. |
