Abstract The ultimate aim of this study is to improve the impact sound insulation of floors for Apartment House. For these, the impact sound insulation performance of floors which have been widely constructed in this country was investigated by using Tapping Machine and Tire in accordance with KS F 2810.20 different floors were selected and constructed under the controlled condition. These floating floors are devided in four groups; lighted weight concrete resilient layer, polystyrene resilient layer, mineral wool resilient layer and modified concrete block layer. The results obtained from these field experiments were synthesized and analysed in order to find out the appropriate evaluation methods of the sound insulation performance of floors.
