Title |
A Study on the Campus Planning Process |
Abstract |
The intent of this study is to verify the planning processes taken in the three sample campus planning projects, which are expected to be different apparently due to the qualitative difference in the nature of the projects. One of the results of a comparative analysis is that a series of six procedural steps is commonly followed in the sample projects as a planning process, despite of the differences in the planning goal and objective, in the contents of facility requirement, and in the condition and location of site. The logical relevance of these common procedural steps is closely examined, and four planning issues are questioned-absence of particularity in the process, disregard of a rule in the planning procedure, ambiguity of planning concepts, and random adoptation of planning techniques. |
