Abstract The architectural technology of ancient China had been developed from ages ago.Even though there are no remains of wooden buildings the superiority of architectural technology of those days can be conjectured indirectly through the stone buildings and the other kinds of buildings of those days.Especially excavated architectural tools used during the Chin and Han dynasty show that the architectural technology on the part of wooden buildings made a remarkable progress. Those tools used during the Han dynasty were square, saw, axe, hatchet, plane, chisel, hammer and trowel and so on and most of them were made of iron.
